At this time of the year, there are many horror scenes made by the man sitting in place, ready to jump and paw at her teeth. But vampires, half-lives and other imaginary atrocities can at least be explained.
Our planet gives us some spots that reveal real horror, and there is no logical justification for ending its existence. Here's a list of some scary places you may not have thought of by Live Science.
Waverly Hills Clinic
Are you ready to be very scared? If you go directly to the Waverly Hills Clinic, located on the outskirts of Louisville, Kentucky. The hospital was built in 1910 to become a treatment center for TB patients.
The winged building gained an appalling reputation after thousands of patients died of the "white plague," a plague that struck the United States in the early 20th century. During the epidemic, there was no known cure for tuberculosis, and many patients lost their lives - some historians estimate the figure at 8,000 dead - in Weverly Hills over 50 years. After the discovery of antibiotics to treat tuberculosis, the clinic was reopened to become a geriatric hospital.
Now it is a private property, and the clinic has become a famous shrine for ghostly halloween tours, and plans are being made to turn the allegedly haunted building into a hotel and conference center. Spend the night there, if you dare.
Savannah, Georgia

It is widely believed that this character, now known as the "Lady's Bachelor of Grove," represents the ghost of a woman buried next to her young child. It is alleged that she walks around the tombs during the full moon with the child in her hands.
London Tower
A historic building in England was home to queens, criminals, crown jewels, a zoo and a whole host of ghosts? It is the Tower of London of course.
The castle and the 900-year-old fortress are said to be inhabited by a number of ghosts, including the ghost of Arbella Stewart, the cousin of King James I.
Arbella committed a grave mistake by marrying against the will of the king, and she still spends time inside the tower to meet her mistake, the legend says. The ghosts of the other famous London Tower include Queen Anne Pauline (the wife of King Henry VIII, who has lost her head) and Thomas Beckett (Archbishop of Canterbury).
Okegahara Forest
Located at the base of Mount Fuji in Japan, it is one of the most horrifying places in the world: it is the Okegahara Forest. Okigahara, also known as the "Suicide Forest", covers 14 square miles (35 square kilometers) of trees, and hundreds of people have committed suicide over the past several decades.
In 2010, 247 people tried to commit suicide within the jungle, of whom 54 were successful in their attempts, according to a report in Japan Times. The number of suicides and successful cases in the forest continues to rise each year, the report said.

The puppets are the work of local artist Tsukimi Ayano, who makes statues of life size to replace all the people who left Naguro to live in large cities and those who have died over the years.
The village-made freezers, as their human counterparts have done before, sit outside the local shops, go to classes and fish from the river. Despite the emotional support of the puppets, some visitors to Nagoro say that their presence everywhere in the town is somewhat uncomfortable.
Island Dolls in Mexico
What could be stranger than a tree hanging from all sides of the dolls? What about a whole island of trees full of drooping dolls?
Isla de la Muñecas, or Puppet Island, is a small island located in the middle of a canal south of Mexico City. The city is named after its population of puppets, a group of puppets, puppets and other scattered parts of the dolls hanging on the island trees and perched on its branches.
The dolls were put in place by a local man who reportedly found the body of a young girl who had been washed away by the waves on the island's coast some 50 years ago, according to the Atlas Obscura book. This exotic graveyard contains almost every aircraft piloted by US military pilots since World War II, including the P-52 Stratovortris and the latest F-14 Tom Cat. But, do not try to get into that particular airline base because it is not open to the public. However, you can stare at the metal structures covered with dirt on the Google Earth site (try using these coordinates 32 08'59.96 "N, 110 50'09.03" W).
Death Valley
Yes, the name in itself is a cause for pessimism, but the Valley of Death is also named for some reason. Spend a lot of time in the hottest, driest area and the lowest place in North America and you'll know why the first settlers released such a loose name.
